Crossing the genres of traditional, classical, and modern hymns, the Merrills’ music focuses hearts to bring praise to the Creator of music. Niah and Allisha partner with many talented writers, orchestrators and musicians around the country to produce quality music that is both God-honoring and relevant. They sing and play an assortment of instruments (including the piano, trumpets, flugelhorn, hand drums, and Irish penny whistles) in a variety of inspirational musical styles. The Merrills travel full-time in ministry calling their RV “home.” Their rig is fully equipped to carry instruments, sound and video systems while also functioning as their overnight accommodations.

God has uniquely gifted Niah and Allisha to serve the local church. While dating in 2011, Niah and Allisha were deeply involved in a thriving church plant in Powdersville, SC and were later commissioned to travel full-time in ministry after their marriage. Over the years, they have worked together with the Merrill Evangelistic Team (Niah’s father’s ministry) and Wycliffe Associates in the work of Bible translation. God used these opportunities to broaden their ministry experiences and give them a greater burden for missions and Bible poverty around the world. In January of 2016, God brought them to the next transition and step of faith–starting the new traveling music ministry in which they currently serve. Together, they have had the opportunity to minister all across the United States as well as Italy, Nepal, the Republic of Georgia, and Israel.

Niah is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and performer born in McMinnville, OR. Growing up on the road since he was 3 years old, he travelled with his family’s third-generation music ministry (the Musical Merrills, which eventually became Merrill Ministries). After completing his college and graduate work in May of 2012 (B.A in Mass Media and M.A. in Organizational Communication), Niah rejoined Merrill Ministries to lead the music and children’s programs along with his wife, Allisha. In 2014, Niah transitioned to become the Southwest Area Director for Wycliffe Associates where he and Allisha hosted 170 events all over the west coast raising funds for Bible translation projects. Now, Niah and Allisha’s goal is to inspire concert audiences to use their own abilities to the fullest potential for God’s glory.

After earning her B.A. in speech and minoring in music, Allisha taught speech on the collegiate level for two years while earning her M.A. degree in Performance Studies.  After marrying Mattaniah in 2012, she served as pianist, vocalist, drama instructor, and ladies’ conference speaker for Merrill Ministries. In 2014, she and Niah traveled for Wycliffe Associates hosting and performing in banquets for Bible translation projects until beginning their new concert ministry in 2016.
